Yes, yes…it has been 10 months since my last blog post! Things have been B U S Y around here:) Opening the lil Leland Cafe, serving breakfast and lunch in the Cafe and Tasting Room in Lake Leelanau, kicking out pallets of hummus for 175 stores in MI and IN, making hundreds of pounds of Maple Granola & Salt Your Sweet Mix, mixing our original Veggie Burgers, Balsamic Vinaigrette and adding the NEW Black Bean Burgers to our production, hiring a fabulous staff for both Cafes and for production, along with scheduling demos downstate and participating in food shows & festivals have all lead The Redheads to it’s best year yet! Whew!
Life is good. Life is beautiful. I am amazed at The Redheads crew that came together this summer~ some folks that I knew and some newbies. All I can say is that hands down I had the opportunity to work with the best staff in the entire county! The first and foremost quality that I look for in interviews is positive attitude and one’s willingness. Things can always go wrong and it is important to me that we can all roll with the punches and strive to create the most efficient and effective solutions to issues. I choose to surround myself with like minded people who can see the glass half full…and even though at times my besties accuse me of being a pollyanna, I would like to say that I am choosing happiness, holding myself accountable. Of course, this doesn’t mean I don’t get upset, feel annoyed, or get frustrated. It means that I choose to not stay there. I mean, really. I could talk about how dirty my garage is, how the laundry is piled up, how work is whirling around me sometimes so fast I can’t catch my breath, that my kids were just fighting about what show to watch, or how tired I am after work and volleyball practice. And all of those things are true. But what I want to live out of is that I have healthy beautiful children who are learning how to negotiate and communicate what they want, that we have A BILLION pieces of clothing to wear (even if dirty), that I get to be involved in all the young ladies lives that play volleyball and participate in a sport that I love, and I get to be challenged by a business that is growing in so many exciting ways. I choose to be fulfilled by all the wonderful beauty surrounding me and all the wonderful things of which I choose to be a part.
I choose happiness.
All the very best~
Sarah
P.S. I am committed to writing every month (at the very least) about living and loving Leelanau! Stay tuned….for real this time:)
