On this beautiful journey of life I have been gifted, it is so incredibly important to me to connect to what moves me…moves me to the core of my being. In our current climate as a country and as a world, we are experiencing each other sharing what moves us to our core. I know that this is where we are suppose to be as a culture, to shake what is in us, out of us…and to share with one another who we are and for what we stand…even when we don’t agree, or it is uncomfortable.
I believe that being creative is what connects me to my source. It is the most direct and clean connection I can have when I am being full on creative. I do this through food and cooking, the outdoors, music, listening to others, being with friends and family. I also know that where I live, the most beautiful and magnificent county of all, surrounded by amazing lakes, is a direct line to my source, and to myself. The pristine, awesome, glorious waters of our Great Lakes are what we all have in common, whether we fish, bike, boat, hike, swim, camp. We soak up the luminous beauty our lakes emanate.
For the love of God, protect our lakes and do it now. Please watch this creative video (link below) that FLOW (For love of Water) and Patagonia put together to bring awareness to Pipe Line 5 and our precious Lake Michigan and all our Great Lakes. This is an issue we can ALL get behind and we can ALL support. Stop thinking someone else will sort this out. Be creative. Do what you can to hold Enbridge accountable for the many violations they are committing. Donate. Write. Sign up on FLOW website. Be informed. Share. Stop the pipeline from threatening our lifeline. Think of all the millions of moments these lakes have given you, and fight for more moments for yourself and for our children so they may shine in the natural beauty we all deserve. This water is at the core of who I am and why I live here.
So, for the love of God, for the love of our water, for the love of our Great Lakes State, for the love of our Leelanau, for the love we all share…shut down pipeline 5.
Now is the time.
