A New Year! I always find this time of year so very exciting… to set new intentions, go after new goals. I also reflect on the year passed. The Redheads had the best sales years we have had yet, and it was truly a rewarding year in taking on challenges of suppling Kroger, opening a new cafe, hiring more people, adding new products, and defining ourselves to line up with the goals and intentions for the next year!
I am proud to be a part of a company that is doing so many exciting things! We are thrilled to be dedicating our work towards school concessions and vending to offer a healthy option! So don’t be surprised if you are at a high school game, a gas station, or a local movie theatre and see our Homemade Granola or Salt Your Sweet Mix packed in “on the go” size, ready to eat!
We are also participating in an event called “Lake Leelanau Street Fair” where the old business section of Lake Leelanau (side of NJ’s and in front of Bella Fortuna) will be shut down for local music, wine & food, a kid activities tent, as well as arts & crafts booths. The Redheads are in line to sponsor a tri-atholon on the morning of this event on August 15th, 2015 that will include a kyak/paddle board, bike, & run, in addition to a kids mini run to kick off the street fair! We will surely let you know more as the details get sorted!
Elizabeth (E MINOR) and I are headlining a music show together at the Old Art Building on Friday, March 20th and the lovely Aaron Ryder & David Hill will be playing with us!
I haven’t played a show at the OAB since the summer of 1995, sitting on the edge of stage with my nylon string guitar singing my heart out! I am very excited to go back and play with my little sister whom has made quite a name for herself in the music biz! Nice work Lizzie!
We are continuing to add stores to our list to make our products available as well as add our Perfect Pancake Mix, and our Crazy Good Coffee Cake Mix to the markets. We are also hoping to launch to select stores our four Sassy Sauces (Bridge Sauce, Righteous Romescu, Tasty Tahini and Presto Pesto)! We are expanding our Gift Box department to service companies that want to give meaningful, healthy gifts from a conscious company for the holiday season of 2015!
We are adding other aspects to our lil Leland Cafe come May and we are bringing back the music to STAGE RED, with E MINOR, Blake Elliot & Miriam Pico kicking off the summer on June 27th! Whewwhewy! So many awesome people to collaborate with, so, please sign up to our newsletter for all the events and for specials only available to those who receive the newsletter! Lastly, I am deeply grateful that Aaron and I held on to a dream that was planted 7 years ago when Olive was 1 1/2. We all were sitting on the floor trying to get an “Earth” video in our VHS (yes, that is right, a video tape!) that Auntie Jackie sent as a gift. The opening scene came up on the screen, starting with the base of Redwood tree panning all the way up to the tippy top of tree. We were all stunned in silence as it took a solid three minutes to get from the bottom of the tree to the top. What an amazing sight. Olive turned to the two of us and pointed to the TV and said, “I go there Mama…”. Aaron and I let out our first breath with a slight smile and said, “Yeah, us too!” That was it. We were going to take a trip to The Redwood National Forest in Northern California! Seven years later, we now have our Edwin James (6yrs) and we are taking five weeks to drive west hitting The Redwoods, The Grand Canyon, Lake Tahoe, Zion National Park, The Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Badlands as well as many cities. We will visit family and friends along the way! We are making it happen now while our babies still want to hang out with us and while they are at such an impressionable age. Special thanks to The Redheads staff, the Leelanau Children’s Center Staff, and Leland Public Schools for supporting our leave for five weeks! We will be setting up a page on The Redheads website so you can keep tabs on us along the way. There will plenty more about our adventure in the next few months as we prepare to go!
So, CHEERS TO A BRILLIANT 2015! May you breath clean air, drink crisp water, eat healthy-healing food, and may you dare your self to participate in what makes you feel alive. May you continue to seek your true passion and share it with the world! May you
set your intentions and goals high and may you make all your dreams for 2015 come true.
LIVE IT SASSY!
