The Redheads is a healthful foods manufacturing and marketing company, providing high quality, exceptionally flavorful foods to upscale grocery stores, specialty foods and gourmet stores and restaurants. The company uses organic, natural, whole food ingredients and employs manufacturing techniques that offer stability without using unnatural preservatives and additives. The owners are aware of the many dietary challenges today and offer products that respond to a variety of needs: no added sugar, low sodium, trans-fat free, non-dairy, wheat free and low fat. The Redheads wanted to offer a line of foods that is conscious of these needs without sacrificing the flavor. The Redheads products are just great tasting food!
In 1997, Christen and Sarah created a natural foods restaurant called Kejara’s Bridge. Their mission was to “bridge” themselves to the community offering foods that were flavorful and made from scratch. Both had extensive experience working in many fine restaurants and came to know good food and the importance of fresh flavor and wanted to create a place where locals and tourists alike could come and “Feed Your Senses”!
The sisters have a real passion for the arts and very much wanted to integrate this aspect of themselves into their business. They sponsored “A Little Night Music Concert Series” at the restaurant where musicians from all over the world came to perform. They also support local artists by maintaining a gallery that showcases local artists, painters and photographers with a rotating monthly show.
Over the years, Kejara’s Bridge became a community hub where friends and families gathered to enjoy the welcoming surroundings and great food. Since opening in 1997, Kejara’s Bridge received many awards recognizing its flavorful food, fine recipes, coffee and comforting ambiance.
In July 2003, after years of friends and customers encouraging Sarah and Christen to package and sell their sassy and naturally delicious creations in stores so they could enjoy them at home, The Redheads food line was born. A few local stores agreed to carry Redheads’ hummus in their deli sections. Sales grew rapidly, more products are being added to the line each year, and The Redheads continues to grow!
After closing the restaurant down for a few years to focus on the growth of the product line, The Redheads reopened as The Redheads Cafe & Tasting Room serving all the Kejara’s breakfast and lunch classics as well as adding a tasting area where customers may try ALL The Redheads products.
