We are aware of the many dietary challenges out there today and offer products that respond to a variety of needs: no added sugar, trans-fat free, non-dairy, wheat free, low sodium, low fat, protein rich, and most of all great taste.

The Story

In 1997, Christen and Sarah Landry created a natural foods restaurant called Kejara's Bridge. Their mission was to "bridge" themselves to the community offering foods that were flavorful and made from scratch. Having both had extensive experience working in many fine restaurants, they came to know good food and the importance of fresh flavor.

Both sisters are graduates from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Christen is a talented painter and musician with an art degree. Sarah has a degree in communication arts, and is a painter and a musician. The sisters felt very strongly about supporting art and music. They created a little night music concert series at the restaurant where musicians from all over the world would come to perform. While offering local, tasty, homemade foods, Christen and Sarah were also determined to provide a venue where local painters and photographers could show their works.

Christen and Sarah value community, supporting local products and business, recycling and sustainable living. As the proprietors of a natural foods restaurant, Christen and Sarah developed and refined appealing recipes that feature whole, natural and often organic ingredients. The dishes offered at Kejara's Bridge typically include an exceptional sauce, dressing or spread created by the owners and made onsite exclusively for the restaurant. The sister's developed and perfected the recipes for the cookies, brownies, muffins, scones, coffee cake, granola and veggie burgers.

Over the years, the restaurant became a community hub where friends and families would gather to enjoy the welcoming surroundings and great food. For the last 10 years in a row, Kejara's Bridge has received many awards and has been recognized for its flavorful food, fine recipes, coffee and comforting ambiance. Customers and friends have asked and encouraged them to package and sell their sassy and naturally delicious creations in stores so they could enjoy their recipes at home.

In July 2003, two local stores agreed to carry their hummus in the deli sections. Once customers tasted the products, sales starting growing steadily. The Redheads was founded in 2003 and has been attracting more dedicated customers each year!
